A Founding Father, he served as the first and sixth post-colonial Governor of Virginia, from 1776 to 1779 and from 1784 to 1786.

Keysville, Virginia is located just off 4-lane US Hwy. 360 in Charlotte County, in the heart of Southside Virginia. Tucker Timber operates 3 sawmills on the Keysville site, with 2 of those dedicated solely to railway tie production. Genesis Products is a leading supplier of wood and laminate products for a variety of industries.
Keysville residents and businesses enjoy easy access to higher education and workforce training opportunities. J.H. Daniel Campus of Southside Community College is located on Rt. 40 just outside of town, Hampden Sydney College is only about 20 minutes away, and Longwood University is less than a half hour away.
