This is a fantastic opportunity to get everything you want in a property all in one tract! This 63-acre tract offers a fantastic waterfront building lot with expansive views looking out over Pungoteauge Creek in Accomack Co VA. The lot is cleared and has a 3 BR septic and deep well already in place. You can sit out on your porch and gaze out over the beautiful panoramic view every day. It will also be a matter of feet to your pier; also already in place. Crab and fish right off the end of the pier in just a matter of moments after the thought occurs. If you are just looking for a weekend getaway, for now, there is a hunter’s cabin with a kitchen, wood stove, and a bathroom with a shower. A great place to come in out of the wet or cold for lunch and warm and rest up for the afternoon hunt. That’s right, wildlife abounds on this property. Deer, turkeys, and ducks are all available hear in one stop. An extensive trail system runs through this heavily wooded tract with tree stands and food plots already established. Surrounded by vast amounts of croplands, this tract has bedding areas, browse, and water. The small pond offers another draw for the deer and turkeys. Owner says it gets low but never dry. Ducks are available a very short distance from shore out in the wide creek entrance on the many small islands and occasionally the wood ducks visit the ponds in the timber. This shoreline is less than a mile from the Chesapeake Bay for all the boating and fishing you can handle. This is a unique property that may very well be what you have been waiting for.
The Eastern Shore of Virginia was known as “Accomac Shire”, until it was renamed Northampton County in 1642. The present Accomack County was created from Northampton County in 1663. Members of an English voyage of exploration landed in the area in 1603, four years before the founding of the Jamestown Colony. Captain John Smith visited the region in 1608. The county and the original shire were named for the Accawmack Indians, who resided in the area when the English first explored it in 1603. The Accawmacke nation at the time numbered around 2000, and were governed by Debedeavon, a paramount chief called by the English the “Laughing King”. He became a staunch ally of the English newcomers, granting them several large areas for their own use. Accomac Shire was established in 1634 as one of the eight original shires of Virginia. The name comes from the native word Accawmack, which meant “on the other side”.
